Bassoon ReedThe two blades of the reed vibrate to create the sound of the bassoon.
You can acquire bassoon reeds from a local bassoonist, bassoon teacher, or reed maker. Bassoon reeds are also available online from merchants such as Clark Bassoon Reeds and Jones Reeds. |
Bassoon BocalBassoon bocals are fragile and surprisingly expensive! Be sure to take good care of yours. Consider purchasing a special bocal brush and cleaning out your bocal monthly. Do not use your bassoon swab in your bocal– it will get stuck!
